Webb11 sep. 2013 · Probably has 100-150 hours on the engine since it was installed. The starter turns strong and starts the engine without any problems. However, once started, there is a horrible clanking noise that I believe is the bendix hitting the flywheel. I pulled the starter and lubed up the bendix gear. It moves smoothly until it's in the starter housing ... Webb11 apr. 2024 · I tried loosening them, rocking the starter, but no luck. Pulled them all the way out, but the case and coils came off, leaving the armature and drive still stuck. Had to pry with a big screwdriver to get it freed from the flywheel. Then had to make a three hour round trip home to get a spare.
