Then move it to 100 and sight it in 3 inchest high. DO NOT ADJUST the windage at 100 yards though. Now move it to 150 and shoot again, then back down to 50. Adjust accordingly. I've tried 295 grain Powerbelt bullets and I am disappointed with their penetration and accurcy. I've tried them with 100 and 150 grains of Pyrodex Pellets. I read this in a book: Based on the trajectory of the average muzzleloading rifle, when sighting-in at 13 yards, your gun will be a bit high at 50 yards, almost right on at 75 yards, and a bit low at 100. Any truth to it?

I wanted to build a consistant 200 yard muzzleloader with as little drop as possible. Here's where I ended up. I've landed on the Barnes TMZ 290 gr ballistic tip, pushed by 150 gr of loose 777.
