Turn the group on and off by hitting the letter you chose. I generally use B for bass tracks, V for vocals, D for drums, etc. I don't use too many groups. Not sure what the threshold is but i've seen posts that it has to be over 4 seconds. edit: Also being in "quick punch" mode disables loop playback as well. If you have quick punch selected, it won't loop. When you do that Protools selects all tracks. So I keep 'Link Track and Edit Selection' off while editing and there is no problem anymore.
