Of those 15 systems, just two (the Massachusetts Department of Correction and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice) require correctional facilities to report in-custody deaths directly to the U.S. Attorney General and the DOJ. WebUse of Force Data Collection Program and the Death in Custody Collection Program. Reported deaths resulting from natural causes will only be submitted to the Death in Custody Collection Program. Deaths reported in compliance with DICRA also satisfy the New York State Arrest Related Death reporting requirements outlined in Executive Law 837-v.
