I put mine together and thought I had the linkage set right. I had a pretty good 383 in the car and the first time I nailed it the shift was really soft. I tried it again and still soft. If I put my foot to the floor it doesn't shift until a high speed (haven't had a chance to go above 50 with linkage installed yet) and if I'm crusin along at say 35 and I put my foot to the floor it'll kickdown.
